An Angel's Initiation-CH1-PT1
BOOK 1
"It is to the credit of human nature, that, except
where its selfishness is brought into play
it loves more readily than it hates. Hatred, by a
gradual and quiet process, will even be
transformed to love unless the change be impeded
by…the original hostility."
- Nathaniel Hawthorne (The Scarlet Letter)
Sanura Rayne sat at the table, where her friends had once convened once upon a time, and was, apparently, oblivious to the world around her. Her head was down, resting on her arms, and slumber threatened to over power her. As it was, she had started sorting through the events from earlier in the morning between her mother and h
Deserted island,
Let's drift ashore.
This distant paradise,
We'll have to explore.
I wait for the darkness to descend,
To watch the stars as they soar-
High above us in their qlittering twilight,
In their own beauty, whispering their delight.
Let's build a fire,
And keep the flames high to fight back this demon of lore.
One tender caress,
Will break the barrier that kept us away before.
I must be lost within your touch,
This comfort I'm beginning to adore.
This one gentle kiss,
Will send me to the floor.
The heart will cry out.
But the mind will remain silent.
Tears will only reveal
The hidden desire deep inside.
Diamond stars glittering in the skies.
Diamond tears shimming within the lies.
The heart will be alone.
But the mind will delve in company.
The tears will only reveal
The abondoned hope residing inside.
Diamond tears will glitter in this lie.
Diamond stars will shimmer in this sky.
The heart will dive into the darkness.
But the mind will shine in its light.
The tearls can only reveal
The lost pain hidden inside.

Sanura stood as someone tripped and fell into her. They fell backward; she hitting her head against a chair leg; the other landing on top of her. She coughed, trying to regain the breath that was knocked out of her. She then looked down to see a shiny head of black hair pulled back in a ponytail. A few seconds later, the head tilted upward and she was once again staring into the eyes of Dante. She gasped.
"Wow, I'm sorry about that." He aplogized softly, a blush creeping up his cheeks. Sanura raised a brow.
"Wow. And you seemed so Suave the other night too." She teased. The blush darkened his face and he sat up quickly. His eyes d

Chapter 2
Sanura was making her way to the back parking lot, where the administration had placed both juniors and sophomores amongst each other. Derek, her short time friend, but long time annoyance, was moving with her, complaining about how cold it had become.
"Wow, it's cold. I bet you're freezing." Derek stuttered as he wrapped his jacket tightly around him. Sanura looked down at her oversized shirt and black jeans. She felt just fine.
"No, not really. You have to remember. I used to live further North." She yawned, weaving her way through the parked cars.
"Oh wow. One state North. Not much of a difference." Derek grumbled.

Chapter 3
She looked upward into the darkening sky and stood. Her long, raven black hair moved behind her in the wind, silver streaks glinting in the fading light. The night began to welcome her into its embrace and she began her descent down off the mountain. Her black cloak floated aimlessly in the breeze as she hopped down off the rock. Slowly she removed her hood, revealing a pair of silver colored eyes, surrounded by outer circles of dark-blue and pale green. Her gaze traveled to the sound of footsteps upon the gravel. A young man appeared.
"Figured I would find you here." He said to her, stopping within five feet. She smirked

"I am Not afraid!" She shrieked into his face. She leaned forward, straining against the chains. Blood splashed to the floor from her open wounds, her shirt was in tatters around her torso.
"Yes… You are. I can smell it on you Rayne. You reek of it." He whispered into her ear. She pulled away, putting as much distance between them as she could. He chuckled.
She was trapped in a dungeon; more or less like the medieval ones. But, computers lined three far walls and windows high up allowed viewers to watch her abuse and her mother's.
He stepped over to her mother, a wicked grin on his face. His silver hair glinted in the light as it

Insanity of the World
The world spins
As you fall
to rock bottom
beneath it all.
A new home
For you to reside.
Alone with nothing,
Just risk the bind.
Now close your eyes.
Count to ten.
Wake up once more,
Just to begin
Again.

Sanura lay in the hospital bed, staring up, wishing she could see the ceiling. The darkness was getting to her. The silence was grating at her nerves. The doctor had come in yesterday and told everyone that it would be best if she stayed until the bandages could be taken off. Everyone agreed, except for her. She couldn't say anything against it as she had heard his footsteps fade away. It felt as if her mouth had wired itself shut, and if it was pried open even a little; she would release something deadly.
Friends had come and gone. They would say that they would pray for her, or wish her happiness and a full recovery. She never took
